People who say "'Nuff said" make me want to slap them just to get the last word.

Feminism

I'm a huge proponent of personal responsibility and taking charge of your life. I believe that hard work and due diligence usually pay off in the end. I think that men and women can get along peacefully and productively when mutual respect is the order of the day. We can solve a lot by communicating and by recognizing our own personal biases and prejudices.

I believe that self-esteem and education are the keys to a highly-productive and fulfilling life. I believe that when we look for role models, we should be able to look to our own parents and siblings. I also believe that we should look to the people who run our cities, states and nation for guidance. I believe that every single one of us should see ourselves reflected in success.

Apparently, these beliefs are offensive. Apparently, these beliefs, which I call feminism, are outdated and anti-male.

I don't understand that.

A few facts

My tax return is 39 pages long.

I have had a headache everyday for the past week. I'm tired of that.

There's a chocolate Mexican cake in my kitchen waiting for strawberries and glazing. What's so Mexican about the cake? Cayenne.

Every customer service representative I talk to lately wants to know what the weather is like in Portland. Is this standard chit-chat now or is Portland weather inherently fascinating? If it is the latter then right now (you'll be excited to learn) it is around 50 degrees and overcast, carrying the scent of rain.

Qwest's "Custom Choice" plan is neither customized nor choice. In fact, it's the worst of the deal. Qwest has been sufficiently chastized so that when I called to change my "Custom Choice" to the services that I actually use, the CSR only half-heartedly tried to convice me that $32.95 was a better deal than $13.

I'm still waiting to hear about that proposal.
