Five more quick notesAgain, I'm at Laurie's, checking email and doing laundry. Another quick update.
1. We are out of the old place. It's clean and done and we're gone. What an ordeal.
2. The fleas seem to be gone. Oz is shedding little tiny black dots which don't wiggle or move. I've been vacuuming them up.
3. I've ordered another computer, this time from Dell. I was hoping it would come yesterday but it didn't. Maybe today but I won't be able to play with it at all as I'm heading up to Seattle tonight to hang with some peeps.
4. We got our entire deposit back plus some money for a towel rack that we bought and we'll be getting a check for a rug that we bought as well. We bought that rug with the understanding that they would reimburse us for the total amount but we procrastinated and when it came out down to moving, they didn't want it anymore. But, we convinced them to take it at about half price. It's worth it.
5. A cool thing happened last week. I applied for a job at the university for a Digital Media Teacher's Assistant. The prof who advertised called me up and said that I was overqualified for the job but that he wanted to talk to me about some possible teaching opportunities and about helping to develop the digital media program. I'm excited about this -- I hope it turns into something.

A quick note as I'm sitting at Laurie's computer and I've got a ton of stuff to do today.
1. We are almost moved into our new place. Yesterday, Laurie and I were scrubbing the old one top to bottom. Today I need to get the last of the crap and mop the floors. I can't wait to be done with that.
2. Our new place is infested with fleas. We managed to get someone out to spray Saturday morning, the day we moved our stuff in, but apparently it takes up to 3 weeks for them to all die out. We put flea stuff on the kitty but poor Oz is being terribly bitten. I have 16 bites on my ankles. It's pretty gross.
3. My computer is completely fried. A friend of mine was working on it and the motherboard got zapped. It no longer boots. I have ordered a new computer from Dell which I just got notice won't arrive for another three weeks. I had to turn down a job because I didn't have a computer at home. I could cry.
4. We have no money. After paying our moving and move-in costs, car payment and taxes we are beyond broke.
5. I start school in three weeks. After all this time of planning and preparing and getting excited, I suddenly feel that I'm not ready.
