    Things have been really slow around here. Dead slow. My main client right now is on holiday so things are sort of at a standstill there. After discovering that this apartment goes month to month once our lease is up in February we decided not to move into that other apartment. We also decided that we both want to leave Los Angeles which means I better get some of this new work into my portfolio and start sending out resumes again.

    I might be getting a few domains set up. The first is, of course, for this journal. I was so very bummed though when I went to Internic and discovered that lastories.com had been taken just in October. So I decided to write to the guy and whine about how bummed I was. He wrote back and said I could have it! He said that he didn't think he was ever going to get around to the project that he wanted to do with it and that he hadn't started paying for it yet.

    Isn't that just the nicest thing?

    That's not all, though. An online friend that I met through the Wired mailing list is going to give me some server space for it. I've had a hell of a time picking a host for my future site (no more earthlink for me) so this is just darn tootin' cool. At first I told him that I just wanted to park the domain there until I could find a host but I think that sort of offended him. So, it'll stay there for awhile. An interesting side note is that this guy and his server is way over in Australia. I am in no way a newbie to the web but the fact that I can create friendships with people on the other side of the world is just way cool.

    Other than that, things have been pretty quiet. I'm working on a redesign of this site for my one year anniversary and maybe I'll have a domain by then, too. I'm also trying to really concentrate on making my Flash and Illustrator skills up there with the pros. So, if I don't write much for a little while please bear with me. I will be sending a few things out to my subscriber list so maybe you want to sign up for that.
