Beautiful day today — not a cloud in sight. T. and I decided to head over to Malibu and gawk at the beach and all the pretty houses. But it's Sunday so we didn't head out until noon. Which means that everybody else in L.A. was also out which means traffic jam. I think I really love L.A. — all the togetherness makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

After realizing that we were getting nowhere on the highway we turned back and went over to Playa Del Rey. It was nice to be out in the sun. We walked on the beach and watched the sail boats. We both want to learn how to sail but I'm determined to learn how to dance first.

See, we've hired a swing band for the wedding and I think he and I need to learn a few steps. I hope he doesn't read this and get offended, but his rhythm needs serious work. Awhile back he used to think it would be fun to take dancing classes but it seems I'll have to drag him kicking and screaming. Very frustrating.

We also went and looked through some wedding invitation books. Let me tell you, there are some very ugly, very tacky ideas for wedding invitations out there. Why would anyone want representations of People In Love™ on their invitations? If the people are not you then why would you want them there? That's why I don't get the bride and groom figures on top of wedding cakes. I guess you can search for little plastic people that have your hair color but that's as close as they're going to get.

I am very happy to be marrying this man. I am excited to have a wedding. However, the stuff that some people do to themselves is nauseating. T. and I will be going home to get our marriage license and talk to caterers and get my dress fitted and also attempt to put out fires my mother has started. I am so grateful that she is spearheading this event. She is a wonderful party-giver and her soirees are always a success. But, there are some "special touches" that she likes to add that can drive me crazy.

I'll let you see my dress if you promise not to laugh. It's a pretty large graphic so this is like a committment for you. Okay, fine, here are the links. Hit the back button (or whatever you have on your browser) to return. Here's the front and here's the back. You promised not to laugh. Oh, and that is me in the photo — all me.
